The Ruby Valley is known for its beautiful red garnets.  In fact the name Ruby  was given to the valley because prospectors thought they had found rubies when in fact they were red garnets.  While garnets are less expensive than our sapphires they are second to none in beauty.  There is a reason Montana is called the Treasure State; Sapphires, garnets,  gold and palladium are four of them.
